What Airbnb’s New Cleaning Policy Means for Your Next Stay

Airbnb is implementing a major policy change effective November 20, 2026, that prohibits hosts from requiring guests to strip beds, do laundry, wash dishes, or remove garbage before checkout—and bans surprise house rules not disclosed upfront. The company is also rolling out a new partnership with American Express to offer rewards and perks on vacation rental bookings.
