Justice Department urges sanctions for database analysis critical of its noncitizen voting claims

The Justice Department is urging a federal judge to sanction an immigrant rights group (CHIRLA) and its lawyers for publishing a data analysis that found over 40% of names on the DOJ's list of alleged noncitizen voters in California don't appear on the state's voter rolls. The DOJ claims the analysis violated a court order restricting how the data could be used and has suggested contempt of court charges.
